Opinion on this toy for a robo?
Hi there! In a previous thread, I asked about people's favorite hamster toys. I had someone reccomend this- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C0PCIZI?psc=1
I was wanting a few opinions on this, as I was a bit skeptical about whether it would be safe for a robo or not. Thanks!

As long as you have lots of soft bedding/softer places to land on below, then it's perfectly safe to use! Grapewood/vine is safe too so it can be chewed without any issues. I think your robos would thoroughly enjoy it

Ok, thank you drago! I had Serendipity7000 reccomend this to me but someone else said it wasn't safe. I am making a beach themed cage and I thought this would fit in quite nicely as a driftwood-like decoration. Just wanted to get a few opinions on it!

Did they say why it wouldn't be safe? I agree with serendipity, it's a very cool addition as long as your hams aren't able to fall off of it. I wouldn't worry about it being unsafe though in my opinion

Re: Opinion on this toy for a robo?
Cypher told me:
"I don't think the branches would really be suitable for robos, they are better at climbing than you might think but not natural climbers like Chineyses & might just have a go, fall off & hurt themselves."
In terms of it being chew-safe for hamsters I was pretty sure it was ok but from what cypher said I was wondering if it would be safe for robos.

Re: Opinion on this toy for a robo?
It really depends on the shape of the branch and how you set it up.That particular branch could be risky if it goes high up,but then with other branches they don't have that risk due to the shape and height

Ok, thanks Amity! I was going to be sure that the branch was not too tall or set up in a risky position to avoid hamster injuries.

Re: Opinion on this toy for a robo?
If you laid the branch almost flat it would be safe (the wood itself is safe & no problems with chewing) but do bear in mind the size of these, even the smaller ones are quite big so unless you have a very big cage/tank in mind then you would probably be wasting valuable floor space with something that will most likely be of little interest to a robo, they are nice in a large natural set up but probably not top of the list of favourite things for robos!

Re: Opinion on this toy for a robo?
The cage I'm getting is 650+ square inches so I may pretty sure I'd have enough space for the branch. I'll just order it from Amazon to see how big it is, if it's too big I'll just return it

Re: Opinion on this toy for a robo?
The best way to get wood is in person anyways,so you can get a piece that you know will fit and that you can check over for safety(for example free of holes that may catch tiny hamster toes or claws). While it may seem convenient and possibly even more cost effective, there are just some things that if bought online may not be so great!
