I'm sure both you & the robos will be happy you chose the silent runners when you can afford them! They really are good quality wheels, quiet & easy to clean.
Silent spinners used to be ok, I still have some old ones that are fine but they changed the design some time ago & everyone's hams seem to have problems getting them to spin.

#1 robo in a Wodent wheel and a medium flying saucer (they learn quickly how to control their speed),

Robo#2 has a Wodent wheel which she adores, they like the little holes to climb in and out of

Robo #3 has just a medium flying saucer. I had a Silent Spinner in there but she didn't use it, so I took it out.

I wouldn't recommend a Silent Runner for a robo, the holes on the front panel are too big.

I didn't read thru this whole post, just what I do

I think the silent spinner seems to be the way to go, I can't afford to but them yet so will leave them with their plastic cage wheels (so noisy) for now and save up! Don't want to buy one at a time, I'd feel mean!

My silent spinners I have found they can't spin them, I was so unsure as to whether they were just so quiet I didn't hear them, but got a glimpse last night of Nani in there and it wasn't moving, so will try and get them refunded as I only got them less than a week ago!
That is the problem exactly with them! Do get a refund

What cage do you have? You can get 2 20cm (8") wodent wheels from Rodipet for 39.9 euro (includes postage) which works out about £33 - so a bit cheaper than 2 silent runners. But some wheels work better in some cages than others. Doesn't seem to be a Uk stockist of wodent wheels now and even Rodipet are selling Silent Runners now as well.

At the moment we just have some basic cages from pets at home, I'm looking to make my own cage once they are more settled and tamed, which we are currently in the process of.

One of my hybrids has the Pets at Home version of the Silent Spinner and I haven't had any problems with it

The p@h silent spinner works just fine. I don't like the plastic stand it comes with but it fits the metal stand that comes with a kaytee/superpet silent spinner, so if you already have that it'll swap over just fine (or fit on the cage I would imagine but I only have tanks so don't know if it clangs). My robo liked it just fine, I got one as a back up to go with his original silent spinner (pre-non-spinny redesign) and my Chinese has it now after my original cracked. My robo took a few goes to get used to controlling it and then was fine.

It fits fine to cage bars (even ones with smaller spacing like the Duna fun large has)

I made a little comparison video a while back, comparing the original silent spinner with the p@h one, with my old robo Hector if it helps.

Yes that one is a bit on the small side - I think an 8" wheel would take up too much space in it. Have you seen the Duna Multy? Velma's tip could save you money on the wheels so then you might be able to afford another cage The Spelos is a nice little cage - I got it as a hospital cage for our Syrian recently, so it's worth keeping for that, or as a play cage when doing a clean out.

Seconding the Duna Multy! One of my hybrids has the Fun version (Cage Duna Large Fun) and he loves it! They're really easy to clean and have plenty of space for deep substrate and lots of toys. Porton Aquapet have really fast shipping and great customer service too!
