You'd attach the smaller bin the same way using the zip tie method.But if there are holes already in the smaller bin,that could be an issue

Ah, okay. I was thinking to cut a hole in the bigger box, slide a smaller box partially inside the bigger box, and cut off the part of the lid that's inside the bigger box.

I would cut off the bottom and slide it between the two bins.
