Default Suitable?

Hi.
Just checking that this would be suitable for a winter white? Buy HOME Supa Nova 75 Litre Lidded Storage Box at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Plastic storage boxes and units, Storage, Home and garden.
It is 75 litres and is 673 square inches.
Thank you.

It wouldn't be very secure. If you could find other bins that are more secure, even if they're smaller, you could certainly use several bins as part of a bin system.A single bin isn't going to be enough for every hamster, especially smaller ones.Luckily, this is a simple problem to solve, but it is important to have a secure setup with proper lids and be prepared to expand as it is not at all unlikely to be necessary even with larger bins.

I'd say it'd be fine, but if it were me I'd go bigger. Bigger is better after all! As amity says, its possible that it isn't very secure, but this is an easy fix simply by turning it into a bin cage. Adding mesh and weighing the lid down will work fine

If you absolutely must, get the three pack and make it a bin system. This is cheaper than buying three separate bins, and you'd get one cage over a square meter for around the price of a cage that is the size of just a single bin

Buy HOME Supa Nova 3 x 75 Litre Lidded Storage Box at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Plastic storage boxes and units, Storage, Home and garden.

You could gradually expand and just use one or two bins at first, but buying the three pack is much more of a reasonable price than the bins being purchased individually. While three isn't necessary for a dwarf,it isn't bad either as long as the cage is gradually upgraded, and if nothing else you could put aside the third bin as storage and keep it to upgrade the system if you ever got a Syrian!

It looks ok to me, it's fairly tall so you could maybe get a shelf in there to add a bit of extra space & it's tall enough for a good size wheel (20cm), it is a bit on the small size but would certainly be ok as a starter cage then as you get to know your ham better you'll know whether it would enjoy more space or not.

Actually, looking back at the dimensions they're nowhere near 673 square inches They're only 390 square inches each, which isn't a problem for dwarf species with the pack of three or even just two bins, but definitely not Syrian friendly even with three bins.

Wilko has 80 x 40cm boxes for £10. They're only 25cm high though but the floor space is a lot better than the argos one. Wilko Crystal Storage Box with Lid Clear 62L at wilko.com

They're not too bad in floor space I'd still connect two eventually though,as one is still on the small end for anything but a robo or Chinese.Still a great option, especially as a transition to a larger cage or as part of a bin system once directly connected to more cages(2 for a Russian,3 and a taller unit for a Syrian).
