Re: Help!!!
The only good quality bin I know that comes close to the floor space of a hamster heaven would be the 145L RUB, with most bins you would be sacrificing a lot of space & she would have less to do than she does now so I think trying the mesh may well be a good idea just make sure she can't get to any sharp edges on the mesh, you would probably have to put mesh on the outside to be safe so she may still have a go at bar chewing even so.
It may just be a phase she's going through, one of the most important things is ignore her when she does it, attention is a kind of reward & will only encourage her to do it more so always walk away, even out of the room if need be.
It may be worth doing the cardboard thing still, at least destroying it will keep her busy & be far safer for her!

Re: Help!!!
Thanks for the advice
I am going to try the mesh thing I found some covered in green so I don't think she will be able to get her little nose through
Will again coat bars in olive oil and card board the areas! Naughty little madam!
Thanks for all the help!

Re: Help!!!
Green would be vinyl coated.Don't use that kind,it isn't anywhere near as sturdy and the coating isn't exactly safe You could find the same spacing though!

Re: Help!!!
Mesh does need to be plain uncoated, no paint or plastic covering.

Re: Help!!!
Just remember that if you can't get one bin that is very large you can always add on to a bin setup later on if you remove large portions of walls and connect bins together

Re: Help!!!
If you're still looking at bins don't forget that most (not the RUB) have sloping sides so the floor measurement is usually less than the dimensions given & you may have less space than you think you will, samla bins are quite thin plastic too so maybe not a good idea for a chewer!
