Lightbulb Covered sand bath?

Hi

I recently discovered (today lol) that Jasper uses his sand bath WAY more if it's enclosed and covered.

I'm looking for a non-themed version of this, which is what I discovered Jasper prefers (I have this exact one).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could use (preferably creamic) and links would be helpful?

Thank you

BTW Jasper ignores houses over his sand - I've tried in his beach area.

Tesco have this glass jar. It lays at an angle, so may be ok as a sand bath.

Buy Clear Clip Glass Spice Jar from our Food Storage range - Tesco

Oooh that looks nice! Would a large Syrian fit in there? Thinking of getting something new for Sweep as he makes a point of peeing over the side of the pot his sand is in! (I watched him! )

I use a glass biscuit jar for Cleo and a flower pot for Pip til i get something i prefer. They are both syrians. I think cypher uses salt pigs for her dwarves which i think is what you're after. Like your picture but with more depth. Try googling salt pigs from kitchen shops. Cypher also had some similar looking things to salt pigs. I seem to remember looking them up on amazon and finding them listed with the keywords ceramic hamster house. do have a toadstool ceramic house i found in my local pet shop which fits Pip (while he's young anyway) but the opening is too low for sand. Sorry, can't put you any links, I'm on my phone.

Glass jars can work well & salt pigs are another option, there are lots of different ones to choose from, some are a little deep below the hole but there are many that are really quite round, rather like your ghoul without the extra holes! Unfortunately the best one I have is no longer available but it's worth having a look around.
My other favourite (& a favourite with the hams too of course!) is the rodipet one but it is very expensive.
For Tinwë I've just used a large plastic tub then put one of the larger, wider bendy bridges over the top & he loves it in there!
I almost forgot this one, it's a bit big but if you have the space worth considering, it's been a big hit with my hams & there's a photo of Mickle in it there (4th photo) which gives an idea of scale for a dwarf ham.

I have the Ikea version of those Tesco spice jars (for my herbs and spices!), and there's no way a Syrian could fit inside (8x6x8cm!) but there are larger versions out there - if you google 'angled glass jar' then lots of options come up

Thanks for the replies

I have the Ikea ones too. I think it's a bit small and hard to access for a sand bath as ideally, I would be spot cleaning.

Salt pigs are exactly the kind of thing I'm after (I googled it and looked at images) so thanks Cypher and Velma .

Could you possibly link the Rodipet one Cypher? Very cute photo on Zooplus as well . Nothing could really be too big as I'm currently using a third of the cage as sand lol . Maybe I'll order it if I can't find anything else.

I've tried bendy bridges in Jasper's beach area, but he just ignores them, although he is fond of digging out all the sand under his waterbottle stand lol .

I saw this on a Google images link and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get this in the UK as this is what I wanted (seen it before, but not for years) as it's very cute. Thanks

You could try Ebay. I'm pretty sure I saw some dinosaur ones like that somewhere ... Possibly Amazon or Ebay but I don't remember!

This is the Rodipet sand bath Chesca.
You can get those little ceramic critter bath thingies from Amazon UK but the price has gone ridiculously high since I bought mine, too small for a sand bath but a lovely little hideout, Zen uses hers to stash her special things!
You can get various other shapes like the dinosuar & fruit/veg shapes but many of them a way too small even for a dwarf.
I don't use the bendy bridges in the sand area for Tinwë I use it as a cover over half the plastic tub so he has a covered area & an open area, spoilt lol! He does climb on the bridge but mostly he likes hiding under it while he does his sand antics!

Just looked, Pinkneon, got some nice weird search results including sponges, socks and costumes lol. Maybe not .

Wow when you said expensive, you meant expensive Cypher for the Rodipet one. Thanks for the Amazon link . I haven't seen any fruit or dinosaur ones before. Tinwaë sounds very lucky then lol .
