Re: Adding on another bin
It is a lot bigger than a 40 gallon tank It probably is even cheaper including a lid for the tank, but it is definitely a great bin for dwarf hamsters.

Re: Adding on another bin
If I place hem side by side which I think I'm gonna do its gonna be a lot bigger then a tube. Essentially cutting out the walls but not quite

Re: Adding on another bin
It will, but it isn't going to change things or help with behavior problems just because you add a modular section to a cage just like what makes Critter Trail and other modular cages unsuitable.

Re: Adding on another bin
It will do what AmityvilleHams ? I'm planning on making his cage bigger because it's too small rn. So should I attach sideways or stack?

Re: Adding on another bin
If you attached the bins side by side but essentially cut a wall out of the bins instead of a hole, that would help.Stacking or attaching by tubes in any way won't change the actual given floor space,it just gives an extra room.

Re: Adding on another bin
Joining the bins side by side by cutting a hole out would make a large area It sounds a bit tricky to do - if bin sides slope inwards. Adding a bigger bin is a great move. Other options are just suggestions

Re: Adding on another bin
Yes AmityvilleHams, I'm planning on basically cutting out a wall and connecting. The only problem is, it will be slightly tricky because the bin sides slope outwards. I was planning on cutting a hole the same size/place in a side of the bins, and then taking the cut out pieces and cutting them to the right size, and then hot glueing those pieces I place. Or could I just get a big pvc pipe and connect them that way?

Re: Adding on another bin
The only way to make a bin cage truly bigger in terms of overall floor space is by making them continuous instead of attaching them with pipe and such. You might be better off just waiting and getting the Christmas tree bin instead, since that would be much easier to work with and would be a great size for a dwarf hamster anyways.

Re: Adding on another bin
The problem is, I already have the bin and I don't really want to return it. As its a big bin I think I might make the big one be his living space, normal bin, and then he can go to the other bin and play. He would have toys in both but mabye stuff like a flying saucer and stuff in the smaller bin. Thinking about it that way would it still be better for them to be side by side and connect them with either the way where I cut out the stuff or big pvc tubes? Or would it be ok to stack them?
