Question "Grass" for a hamster cage?

I saw this cage setup and thought it was so cool. I'd love to provide a range of terrains like this!

Does anybody know what is used for the grass? Or any alternatives? And also, the earthy looking substrate under the wheel?

It looks like moss to me but I'm not sure, you do have to be careful with anything growing in a ham set up as you can't really monitor how much of it they might eat & unless you have a completely open top tank like that condensation, humidity & mould can be a problem. The other thing is for anything green to grow well & continue to grow it will need lots of light which hamsters don't so it's not an easy long term set up to do or manage.

Readigrass is green and hay-like in consistency but very soft so that might work (I've used it in natural setups before) Also, I've heard (and personally used) Lucky Reptile Desert Bedding as a soily substrate. It needs airing before use though.
