Re: New Bin Cage
Hmmm...any chance of finding secondhand tiny cages you could dismantle and reuse the wire parts for?If so,that could work as well. You may even get a spare door doing it that way!

Re: New Bin Cage
That's a nice bin cage you've got there? What kind of bin did you use?

For mesh do you have a store called screw fix in the south? I plan to make a bin cage myself soon and will be getting 6mm galvanized wire mesh from screw fix. It is expensive but you get 10 sheets so no rolling out wire which is fiddly and in the long run could make quite a few bins for more hams £29.99 for the wire which I guess is ok. The sheets are fairly big. Hope this is of help. Also how did you manage to cut your bin successfully?

No sadly we don't have screw fix in the south. To cut the plastic we just drilled large holes in each corner where we were cutting and then put a small carpenters knife in and sawed it. Took about 30 minutes for all the holes to be cut.

I have no idea what bin this is. I picked it up at a local euroland shop. Cost about €15

I forget the exact measurements of the length and with but I know that the floor space is about 500 square inches. I recommend any size over 400 square inches for bin cages to be honest. If you want to get more advice on choosing a bin and other things just PM me. I've made many bin cages in the past

They have a website and this is the mesh here:
Apollo 6mm Galvanised Welded Mesh Panel 0.6 x 0.9m 10 Pack | Wire Mesh | Screwfix.com
I don't know what the postage would be or if they deliver to the south but you could look into it. If you make a lot of bins this would be a good buy! I have marked out the mesh Windows on my bin today. Ordered my mesh this morning. Hope the end result turns out ok, im a bit nervous! Thanks for offering help..I may need it!
