Not sure how much 50L of the Walmart Carefresh would add up to,but you can get 50L of Carefresh Ultra for $20.99 or 60L of Carefresh Natural for $19.99 at Tractor Supply.

Re: What substrate is everyone using?
They do have a website but for the most part they're a feed store. You can't get the Carefresh Ultra online but you can get the Carefresh Natural!
Access Denied
The URL says access denied but it is still the link.

Re: What substrate is everyone using?
I use Fitch and would swear by it over CareFRESH! CareFRESH is really expensive and dusty and, believe it or not, after a month or so on CareFRESH Natural my hamster barely came out and just slept. I got Fitch and after using it he became active again! Good thing is it doubles up as nesting material, so I don't buy that anymore. I do prefer the look of wooden substrates, but they are no where near as good value!

Re: What substrate is everyone using?
I think I commented on one of your threads before but not sure. I use Finacard, absolutely swear by it as a substrate. I've got 4 hams on Tumblefresh right now as I wanted to try it out and I personally wouldn't recommend it and can give reasons if you want them.
But yep, I've tried lots of different ones and Finacard definitely works best for me and my hams

I use Finacard for the dwarfies and shorthaired Syrians, and Back2Nature for the longhaired Syrians. I think I've used most of them over the years though!

Re: What substrate is everyone using?
Since I got three large cages to fill and Cindy loves to dig around, we get big bags of beech woodchips to use. They're cheap to buy in very very large bags, they fill three cages while leaving some left for at least one or two more.
Its just cheaper to use one because its easier to find. Other types of substrate are either not enough so cost more to get as you need more bags, or stuff like flich I need to order online and then pay an import tax as no Dutch website sells it. Yummy loves to make a giant mound around her house with it, Cindy adores digging in the stuff and kicking it around everywhere, Lunar just doesn't care xD
