Bin cage lid help
I really need to make a lid for my bin cage. Between Shiitake trying to escape and stuff from my desk I really need to make one.
1 problem though-I don't have the lid from my storage bin.
Im considering getting her a new bin altogether or should I get a different option

Re: Bin cage lid help
You can make a lid with wooden planks and wire mesh.

Re: Bin cage lid help
If you make a wood and mesh lid make sure the wood is nontoxic just in case and if it is pine it has to be kiln dried untreated pine.
It might be easier to make a wood and mesh lid in some ways, but having the exact fit for a lid can be nice too which a DIY lid probably wouldn't have.

Re: Bin cage lid help
Pine wood doesn't have to be kiln dried as it is safe. It's only pine shavings/sawdust that has to be kiln dried.

Re: Bin cage lid help
It might be easier to get a new bin The Samla bin is quite cheap (note lid is sold separately if you scroll down).
SAMLA Box - IKEA
I think a well fitting lid is important - it might be hard to get a wood frame lid secure.
