Sounds like a bit of confusion there lol. Just stick them in the freezer and give them a wipe, they'll be fine. I just suggested making sure you let them dry before putting them in the cage - drying anywhere is fine - windowsill, airing cupboard, kitchen worktop, whatever .

If anything shows any signs of mould I would just bin it tbh, mould spores are mostly invisible so once you see mould you won't get rid of it easily on anything porous or absorbent like wood.
I freeze things just in case anything is living in them too, I freeze in a plastic bag or container & defrost in that so any condensation is on the outside of the bag then once they've got back to room temperature just keep them in the open air.
