Re: DIY TV Armoire Enclosure in the works
This is looking great Kiki! I love the vents you put on the sides, where did you get them? The peel & stick tiles are a good idea. Can't wait to see this finished!

Thanks Kelza! The vents were a suggestion from an HC friend (Biscotti) who made her own IKEA hack about 2 years ago. They are from RoundVents.com. The only thing I didn't anticipate was the open side of the vents on the inside. Don't really like the way they look right now, so I'm going to add the covers pictured below. I saw someone use them in a bearded dragon's terrarium.

It's getting there! lol Certainly a work in progress...with several issues I did not anticipate
I've still got a few things to do tomorrow, including sealing the edges and corners of the laminate tiles. I ordered the acrylic today, but the glass cutting company has to order more 1/4" clear acrylic, so it will be middle of next week before I have it. That will also give a good amount of time for the aquarium sealant to dry and stop smelling! I've ordered hamster furniture from Twilight Chinchillas for my dwarf, Ari. That will get here Tuesday (my Syrian already has furniture from there). So, I'm hoping to have the hams in it by next Wednesday!
I started putting in the covers for the inside of the viv vents. They are 120mm computer fan covers, but work perfectly for what I need. They even can double as a hanger for the water bottle

Re: DIY TV Armoire Enclosure in the works
It is done!!! Tbh, this DIY has been the death of me!!! One headache after another!! After getting the armoire, it seems it is not even close to square! So I've had to add dowels to keep the front of the shelves level, otherwise the plexi doors won't fit/slide correctly. It's been one SNAFU after another.
Well, I thought I was finished! This is one thing I did not anticipate. There is an entire finger space width between the door that sits farthest forward and the substrate border. Don't think it will be an issue for my Syrian, but my little dwarf Ari, maybe! So, I have decided to increase the height of the substrate border from 5 to 8 inches.
So, it's ALMOST done!

This is amazing!!! Thank you for sharing the information on the vents, I think I am going to have to steal the idea.
