Wow! That's brilliant. Well spotted CMB. £75. Similar to the price of an Alexander then. It's taken a while to get into mainstream shops! I think cagesworld are selling it again now too and also a place called Zoobio. Pets at home is cheaper though, and I'm not sure Zoobio are in the Uk so delivery would take a bit longer maybe. Cagesworld are charging £105! But price goes up and down I think.

I’ve been trying really hard not to get a new Syrian hamster. Space is really an issue and if I do, things will get really cramped up in here.
And then this thread (notably the post about hamster plaza being available at pets at home) pops up. Such a perfect cage.
A sign maybe?

Must. Resist.

Lol! I know the feeling. I also wanted another 100cm cage but space struggling here too. I actually think the Hamster Plaza would seem less bulky than a Barney cage. The Barney is deeper (54cm) and that does seem to make it look bulky and stick out further. The Hamster plaza is 50cm deep and wouldn't look so obtrusive. Although is is quite tall. It would be a great cage for a Syrian, with it's front opening door, but would need extra shelves due to the height, which adds to the cost.

would this cage be good for a Russian dwarf do you think? or would the bars need to be closer together?

This cage would be ok for a Russian dwarf as the bar spacing is 1cm. However as this cage is fairly tall (50cm) you would need to fill the base completely up with bedding and also might need to add shelves and ledges so if your hamster climbs up the bars they wont fall to far.

Peachy pet paradise has got a video of this cage. New cage for mice ... Worth watching.

Just spotted on the p@h website that the Savic Plaza cage is included in p@h Black Friday deals - and is 25% off therefore the cage is currently £56.25 (a saving off £18.75). I don’t know how long the offer will be available for but if you have been considering getting the plaza this might be off interest to you.

With much wrangling I am resisting the temptation! Mainly because Newt is not that young any more and is settled in the Barney - I wouldn't really want to change his cage at the moment. I remember when Charlie had a cage change with different doors it did really bother him that the doors were different! Although I would LOVE to set up that cage with all that roof area to use and the big front door!
