Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
I am clearly now a cage addict ha ha. I don't know if you remember Cypher, but I was freaked at the idea of trying to set up a cage in the early days. I wanted one where someone else had it all thought out and set up. Now I look and think - ooh I could do this and this with it - I've already visualised a big heap of Fitch in the middle and a multiple lane highway roof run.

Serendipity7000. You should be a interior designer of hamster cages.

Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
This looks amazing, I'd love to upgrade Alfie but I hate the idea of going back to tiny doors - this solves all the problems!

Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
This cage looks amazing, I really like the design although a top door would be a nice addition (only as Sherbet climbs out of the front door of her cage if I try to use it), but I have never had a cage with a large front door myself. I also like that it contains the corner shelf similar to those in their rat cages, which is better than the shelves in their other hamster cages.
At least with the cage being 50cm tall it will allow enough room for a 12 inch wheel for a Syrian as well as deep substrate.
I wonder how much it will cost when they release it. But can't wait to see the cage when it released and ways to set up the cage. Can't wait to September now.
This is a great cage, and I'm happy that they are starting to make 100cm cages designed for hamsters.

Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
I am happy they are doing that too SKB. I think it's funny when people say they'd miss a top door, as having had a cage with no top door, I hate having a top door lol! Cages like the Hamster Heaven (and this one) have such huge front doors you can access everything inside the cage easily - it's almost like an open cage at the front when the door is open. It's also easier to stack cages, and have them on top of something higher up (front access lower than top access). I think Hamsters like the big front opening doors too - they can get out easily (if there's something to get out onto) and don't feel so shut in.
CMB - not me! Cypher's the one who should be an interior designer of cages! And plenty of others on here - I am far too symmetrical lol. After spending ages designing set ups for various issues when I was ill last year though, I do get an idea of what would work for a hamster when I see one. But making it look good is something else lol.

Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
I think it is a Europe only cage but I think you would have to contact Savic regarding that.
This thread has just reminded me - who is the UK stockist? If my dad ever moves house, we will have a pet room so I would ideally get this cage or the Alexander. Just curious to know the price.

Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
Well it was on sale at cages world for £95 I think. But seems to have disappeared. Bruno's parrot warehouse import it I think and they said they could get it/sell it to me if I wanted to order one.

Re: Savic Hamster Plaza cage
That sounds expensive. The borneo L ie 100cm is 59.00 plus postage from Germany. Still works out cheaper than the Plaza. Mind you the borneo is a bit tall.
