To cut a long story short, my Dad has no small intestine so digestion is a problem. You learn an awful lot about nutrition whn you have this in your family. Vegetables can be a nightmare.
Get double velvet toliet roll if you want to spoil them
I use a mix of Carefresh & Bob Martins 100% recycled paper cat litter, and Safe Bed (small squares type) for my Robos but Safe Bed (long strips type) for my Syrian, she makes a better nest out of it.
I use BedExcel which consists of small cardboard squares. I buy it in a big bale and use it for my ratties too. It is dust free, doesn't smell and suprisingly warm. I mix in the shredded bedding stuff and sometimes some bob martins paper cat litter stuff.
I use BedExcel for my rats too, but feel that the pieces are too big for the hammies. Maybe ok for a Syrian, but for the dwarves it's useless for burrowing & making decent tunnels!
