Some are like that Chesca! When I put strips outside his house to repair any damage done during a clean or when it was colder, Mocho only takes it bit by bit over days. Your offering will disappear. Just give him time to work it out!

Like Coco says, the pile tends to go down slowly and then one day you realise it's nearly all gone. I tend to rip each sheet lengthways into 5 or 6 strips and leave the torn up strips in a big pile somewhere in the cage - they can pouch it or drag it easily then.

Yes, toilet paper is one of the safest nesting material and bedding. Not only that, but it's super cheap...
