Default Carrier advice?

For my birthday my mum has said I can get another hamster and I plan to get it from TuftyFluffs Hamstery, which is just over an hour away from my house, but I need to decide on a carrier to use.

The two contenders are the Ferplast Aladino Guinea Pig Carrier: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferplast-Al...ladino+carrier

And the P@H small wire hamster cage: http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...ster-wire-cage

The second one is larger, allows more ventilation and has a few accessories, however the first one has a much deeper base and easier access.

Which one should I get?

I would go for the Aladino. Safer for the car, easier access and your hamster will feel more secure in it for journeys

I have the Aladino! (The guinea pig sized one as well). I really like it - I use it quite a bit actually - sometimes as a bit of a playcage inside the playpen as I keep some substrate and a couple of houses in it. And it's good for use when I'm doing something to the cage as well. Only been used as an actual pet carrier once lol.

I like the idea of putting it in a playpen - seems like I'm getting the Aladino now! LooBoosShedZoo (g-pig YouTuber) says they do it in colours other than blue in P@H so I'll get it from there

Charlie sometimes likes going in it with the top open when he's in the playpen, but partly because I have this hay house in it and he loves chewing it It fits in sideways at one end. Strangely if I put one of those hay houses in his cage he more or less ignores it (maybe because he has a routine in his cage) but out of the cage he goes crazy for it.

Small size (the other two are huge!)

During cage cleans he just goes to sleep in one of the houses and I put a blanket over the top so it's dark and tend to take him to the bedroom or he gets worried about the cage clanging noises in the room where his cage is

Charlie was in his last night when he was out of the cage, in his mini playpen/cardboard castle thing. I'll be posting a video of it later

It's on Charlie's thread - it doesn't show much of the pet carrier actually, but this video does and there's a photo of it below

Unfortunately none of the photos are from the side/front! But you can see that view on Amazon - the photos hopefully give an idea of scale.
