Ha ha, I don't think she'll be able to push it out - it took two of us to assemble it (one standing in the bin supporting the side, the other forcing the pipe in) and it'll take two of us to dismantle it again! If she manages to push it out, I'm going to enter her in the Guinness Book of Records as The World's Strongest Hamster

This is our new hammy's set up in the Barney cage. Newt (pedigree name Custard's Victor) has just moved in today. The rather empty gap at the back is where the wheel will go - when he's grown a bit more

Lol. It works well - if it's on the shelf - it's too heavy to sit on the substrate really. A plant pot base does the same thing. The idea is to help keep the nails short, but it also catches drips.

Looks good Serendipity. I wouldn't be without tiles under the water bottles either lol. He's a lucky boy to have you and I know he's going to be loved to bits and have a very happy life with you

Newt Custard's Victor's Cage looks amazing. I'm sure he will enjoy it! I love the hide out on the left and the selves, are they a diy?

The shelf on the right is the Barney shelf with the sticky out bits sawed off (I don't have the ladder and the ladder slots were a bit sharp and pointy). I painted it with green plastikote after cleaning it to reduce scents. The one on the left is an indulgence - one of the Rodipet sand boxes, which is sat on top of one of their platforms. So the box has substrate in, the substrate is piled up against it but a gap under the shelf behind the substrate (like a hidey place). The corner shelf over it at the back is one from Amazon.de. I had one before and it's one of the best shelves I've ever had - easy to fix on too. Just wish they made bigger ones. So it gives a couple of levels and also reduces the fall height of the Barney without having things hanging from the roof.

Still looks symmetrical though - lol.

Here's Tangerine's bin cage! It's got 660 sq. inches of floorspace. Just added some DIY toys to it yesterday. If anyone has any questions about the toys I'd be happy to answer.
