His back looks straight. So his wheel could be OK. a owner of a robo(s) will be best to advise. I haven't had a robo yet, but am going with the hamster should run with a straight back theory.

It's probably fine - he's so tiny I just remember being told that a 5" wheel was too small for any hamster but yours is a 6" one anyway - maybe it's because it's so deep it looked small on the photo.

Thank you so much! It's the 64 litre by the Really Useful Box brand. And yes, the tunnel is just the inside of a kitchen roll covered in Carefresh substrate!

Robos only reach about 2"(5cm) at adulthood and until I saw one for the first time a couple of years ago, I didn't quite grasp how small that actually was!

Given their size, I'd imagine that a 5"-6" wheel would probably be okay for one and if anything, a wheel that was much larger could be too big for them to be able to use with any ease.

I think it's the 4" that is too small for robos!Scientifically a 2" robo may just fit in a 4" wheel but it would be cramped. It's just like putting a 5" Syrian in a 10" wheel, there isn't really any room other than what the hamster occupies!

There's actually a video on youtube of robos running in a 30cm wobust wheel LOL! It was a cage full of different sized wheels and the robo ran in all of them going from one to the other.

Can you tell that to one of my boys? He must be 2.5 inches long and weighs roughly 40g.

This is Abe's cage, It's the one I'm most impressed with and got the placement of things right! Still trying to suit my cages to the other hams better, but Abe's cage is definitely my favourite at the moment

He's decided to make his nest in his tunnel instead of his cardboard box.

That's a really nice layout - very creative too! He has so much to do in there. I do find it inspiring seeing layouts like that as mine are always a bity symmetrical ha ha.
