Help with robo please :)
Only got my little guy at the weekend, he is currently in a ZZ1. I would like to get him a bigger cage but completely lost.
My last robo was in an alaska but I never had any worries about him escaping, he was only interested in his wheel.
Flynn however investigates and plays with everything so bars may be a worry? Don't want him climbing and falling from a higher cage either.
Ideally wanting something I won't have to mesh and won't break the bank but suitable for a very inquisative robo and big enough for him to have a ton of toys.
Is there anything similar to a Barney? Bars seem very narrow. My Syrians are in them but they are a nightmare to clean alone, don't like the small doors either. So on the fence about another one of those, especially for a robo, door wise lol xx

Re: Help with robo please :)
The alaska is quite high & robos do sometimes climb so it could be a problem, what about the Hamster heaven (without the tubes & penthouse) or the savic mickey which is basically the same thing, narrow bars but not so high & a nice big door for acess?
It's not as spacious as the alaska & the base does have a real slope on the sides which reduces the floor space but not by too much.

Really wanting a ton of space for him so bigger than Alaska ideally. Would love to get the zoozone 2 but meshing again is putting me off, cut my hands to bits doing the zoozone 1

It sounds like you're after the same ideal cage as me lol! Narrow bars, big door & not too high, I haven't found it yet the only narrow bar cages with big doors are higher than the alaska I think.

Re: Help with robo please :)
This cage might be good Flower Fairy just bought one. It has narrow bar spacing like the Barney, is a 100cm cage, but much lower.
It's from Amazon in Germany - the price is in euros. I think with postage it's about £50 to £60. It's about 3cm lower than the Hamster heaven, so fall risks shouldn't be a problem. It's 7mm bar spacing.
Mäuse- & Hamsterkäfig ELMO "XXL": Amazon.de: Haustier
Basically it's a zoozone with a barred top instead of a perspex top lol - but it does have a couple of small doors on the side.

Re: Help with robo please :)
I think if you're worried about bars though a tank style might be better - the only thing I know bigger than a zoozone would be a 4 ft tank or a detolf really in tank style things (maybe a used aquarium on ebay). Either of those would need a mesh lid though. Tricky! (Sorry just realised you said zoozone 1 so 100cm would be bigger).
How about the maxi duna multy? (It's the size of the zoozone 2 but has less than 1cm bar spacing - not sure exactly what the bar spacing is - about 8mm I think. Freyashamsters will know, she has one ). Only thing is they cost £70 to £80. Looks like there's a used one for sale on Amazon though for about £42 but then you'd have postage on top. Maybe no postage actually - it's an Amazon Warehouse deal. I think that would be a great cage for a robo if you don't mind top access - and no meshing.

Re: Help with robo please :)
The Elmo is a nice cage but it does still have really small doors, I would have one by now otherwise lol! I've been having a think again but really don't think there's an alternative to tank style cages if you want the size without the height unless you compromise on door size.
