It does sound like he might be unwell. They can get stressed by things changing suddenly so it could be he's a bit disorientated. Maybe take him out for a bit and stroke him on your knee or something. Now that you've put the house back, you could put a pile of torn up strips of toilet paper next to it, and put a little bit inside the house as well so it's cosy, plus some familiar smelling bedding from where he slept before so it doesn't smell too strange. Then see how he is when he's out being stroked. He might come round a bit.

I hope he's ok. They can get very freaked by a big change like a house disappearing though. Our Syrian sat and shook once when something changed in his cage - it was very worrying.

He seems a lot calmer and happier now. I figured out what the issue was - his food store was originally in his bed which was out in the open. He obviously didn't like that and had moved it into his toilet. I found it in there and moved it back into his house where his bed is. He's now moved back into his original house, stopped being so anxious, and has stopped the chewing of his wheel. It seems that he's gone back to normal now but I'll keep an eye on him just to check. Thank you for your help!

Really glad he's moved back to his house Sometimes they store food in the toilet to deter people from stealing it. They do get so anxious about house/nest/hoard and like to be in control of them.

Good news he's settling down again I should leave him to himself for a few days now. I sometimes think our Syrian likes his house more than the rest of the cage!
