I'm interested to see pictures of your suggestion though oddlyoblivious! The water bottle is also by the wheel so maybe sectioning this off in a low substrate area would fix the wheel issue but also means she won't flood her bedding from the bottle as she's done before!

Thank you for replies... looks like i'll have to get creative and make some sort of platform or divider!
Posting pictures shortly I popped it out of the cage and can't take pictures with it in there at the moment, but I will do so when it's done. What I did was I bought several dowel rods of a specific diameter and length, then I measured out where I wanted the holes and used a drill bit only very slightly larger than the dowel rod to drill two holes across the cage about 4 1/2 inches apart. Then I used a hot glue gun to attach extra jumbo craft sticks, though balsa wood or cardboard would also work, just a few dabs and left a cut out for her to tunnel into and out of the substrate I trimmed the edges of the dowels down to just a little wider than the bin, wide enough that if I force the sides to bow without the lid on I can pop them out. The trick is leaving just enough length for them to stay secure but not so much that you can't remove the divider. Measuring is a must with this, Mine turned out a little bit crooked because I eyeballed it. but even crooked it looks just fine. I'll post pictures of the divider in a little bit once the phone charges back up.

The other method was using a long base of cardboard against the bottom of the cage to support a sort o report card styled setup.

Edit: Attached picture of divider, can add in picture of wheel attached to side later.

Hi! Did you mean the fenced off area or the platform? Anyway the fenced off area can be a good idea so you can have low substrate in the area the wheel is in (so having it at the end means the rest of the cage can have deep substrate). For platforms I think the tall Trixie one is good - it stands about 21cm tall so it's a good height for standing over deeper substrate. I bought one for Charlie's cage and was quite impressed with it, but haven't used it yet - I solved the problem I wanted it for and the cage is quite fully already, but I still plan to use it at some point. The legs just screw into the base. I've seen them in a few tanks and in duna tanks - it would provide head cover (ie something to hide under) as they need that in an open tank sometimes where there are no shelves.

I always put these natural wood items in the freezer for a couple of days before using them as I'm a bit cautious about anything having woodworm or other little things living in them. I don't think everyone does that though - it's just something that gives me peace of mind

I didn't link it on the other thread as it's too tall to stand a wheel on for a bin cage. It would need access to get to the top - a little bridge or a bendy bridge ramp.

I already have a bendy bridge. (that she is using it as a bed for the moment) I would like to do the fenced off idea but I do not have the money so I think I will go for the stand idea.
