Water bottle for tank.
Hi guys!
I have recently completed a new diy cage and was using a toilet paper roll to hold bottle. The problem is that Percy keeps knocking it over and getting water everywhere! Does anyone have any idea of how I can give him water (in a bottle) without him knocking it over?
Thank you xx

Re: Water bottle for tank.
I posted this already in the cage topic, but if you can get a bottle holder that is plastic or metal you can attach it with industrial strength velcro!

Alternatively you can buy velcro from a store like staples or Halford's and attach it to the side that way. That's what I use. It cost about 5 pounds for a good sized roll of velcro

Would it work without a flat surface (the bottle) ? If so I will be looking around in hardware shops. Never heard of the two you listed lol.

They're big chain stores in the UK I thought you'd have heard of them . Most hard ware shops will sell the velcro. Not sure on putting it on a flat surface tbh

Re: Water bottle for tank.
I don't really have any hamster-less diy interests so that's why I haven't herad of then. Could I attach the velcro straight on the bottle and tank? Or would I need a bottle guard or holder? Thanks xx

Bottle guards tend to be holders too :P But yes,you would need one.I don't think it would set well to have it without the guard, plus if the bottle is in a guard particularly a metal one it would be protected from chewing.

Re: Water bottle for tank.
My bottles are just stuck straight the tank via the velcro without a guard as I don't have issues with her chewing the bottle. I also put a small strip of sellotape over the top of the bottle just to totally secure it. Out of reach from my ham obviously

Yes, the problem is as far as I know they are impossible to get anywhere near where I live. Could I hot glue a piece of wood (thin) To the back of the bottle then velcro? I'll have to do something as he is determined to kill that bottle.

Re: Water bottle for tank.
I'm not sure what to use as a guard wait on further suggestions. There's other ways of attaching a bottle to a tank I'm sure.
