I would happily get a holder or new bottle but I have a perfectly good bottle, plus no money for a holder and postage etc. I will try the velcro on the bottle so thank you very much pinkneon. I'll still maybe get my dad to make a stand for the long run. xx

Definitely worth trying just for temporary purposes! It would be very nice to see if a stand ends up happening and how it works and all that

Try without the holder. Lots of people don't use a bottle holder without problems. If it works for your hamster you have saved some money. Which could go towards something else for your hamster. If not you can get a holder.

Ok, hang on a few mins ...

*Edited to add pics*

1 is the bottle on the cage with the velcro
2 is the strip of velcro on the bottle
3 is the other part of the velcro stuck on the cage
4 and 5 are the 2 bits of velcro stuck together ON THE BOTTLE which is easier to then attach to the cage than having line then up after putting it on the cage first and then the bottle! (Not sure if you can see them both together or not?)

Amazon sells strips of industrial strenth velcro 2" x 4" strips - less than £3. Here's the list of sellers as not sure which post to Ireland (below).

You just cut to size, stick one part on the tank, the other part on the bottle and press the two parts together. It's supposed to hold really well. Probably best to just have a piece big enough so it doesn't show so not visible for chewing.
