Re: Wooden shelf for XXL Mickey cage
You could get some wood cut to whatever size you want at a diy shop. Check the bar spacing on the cage and get wood slightly smaller so it fits between the bars. Then it just needs some slots cut to slot it/hold it I place on the bars.
You could also get a large wooden board and cut it yourself.

Re: Wooden shelf for XXL Mickey cage
The first one looks good. The second one is a bit risky with the metal rings - hammy toes could get caught in the rings and gaps and injuries are a possibility.
I think - if you have the labyrinth house at one end, a corner shelf (or two corner shelves?) would be good as the labyrinth house will be quite low down maybe, but a full shelf over the top of it would make it difficult to access the house and take the roof off. Whereas corner shelves would make the house roof more accessible and provide another level/step up from the house roof.
I try and draw things on paper first when working out cage set ups. Here's a link to some online graph paper if it helps!
Graph Paper
I do a front view and a top view diagram to try and work out what will fit where - it's not perfect but helps work things out a bit

Re: Wooden shelf for XXL Mickey cage
That is a very good and uncomplicated online program to use I will surely give it a try Thanks for that !
My parcel from Rodipet has just arrived therefore I will be organising a cage setup today evening . I am looking forward to doing this!
I haven't thought of DIY platform but it seems to be a simple thing to do

Re: Wooden shelf for XXL Mickey cage
What I have on the right side of Charlie's cage is - house roof on the right hand side near the front of the cage as a level and on the back right of the cage, this long shelf - it's 30cm long by 15cm deep. Beyond that shelf is the wheel at the back of the cage. So on the right side he has a shelf to step up to from the house roof. I also thought about a corner shelf front right, a bit higher than the house roof but haven't tried that yet.
I think the 30 x 15 shelf would fit in the Savic cage as even if your wheel is 30cm that only takes up about 60cm of the 80cm width of the cage.
I just went to look up my shelf for you on Ranchhouse cages but it seems they are away and nothing is listed.
When Charlie was in the Savic cage I just had the house roof as a shelf, front right, which left a gap of about four inches beyond it at the back and I had a lava ledge in that gap, just a bit higher than the house roof.
Anyway - when you get trying things out with the house in it, it will probably come together more!
