P@H large hamster cage
Hi,
I recently bought a 'large' pets at home Hamster cage, that is 37.5x47x55. I then decided that this was way too small for my Syrian Hamster (Susan) so I bought another one and connected it with the plastic tubes, so that she has access to both at all times. The second one is big enough for a large wheel, but I can't shake the feeling that I should have bought the Savic Hamster Heaven.
I don't want to stress her out too much by constantly changing her home, but just wondered if anyone knew whether the two 'large' homes would be big enough?
Thanks everyone.

Re: P@H large hamster cage
You'd be cheaper buying a cage from zooplus. Much larger cages at a much lower price.

Here's the link for you Hamster Cages | great selection at zooplus
I used to have the Alexander, and LOVED it! It had plenty of room for toys and things. There a similar one (Alaska) which is slightly smaller but also popular, as is the Barney

Re: P@H large hamster cage
Your two cages are better than one, but one large cage would be even better as the continuous floor space gives more options for toy layout and better running space.
Could you return one cage and get your money back or credit to use on hamster food, bedding, toys
Would putting the two cages touching with small pipes to connect them be better, the same or worse than it is setup now.

Re: P@H large hamster cage
Thanks for the posts, I've decided to return one, and get a bigger one with more floor space. She is definitely happier with the two, but still bites the bars in the original one (of course she may always do that regardless!). I'd just feel better getting the bigger one (I think my partner may force me to live in it as well though!!).

Good decision. What cage are you getting?

Re: P@H large hamster cage
Oooh which one??? If she is a bar chewer, she could grow out of it in a bigger cage, or maybe you could get one without bars, or where the bars are only on the top and they can't reach?

Re: P@H large hamster cage
I decided to go with the Hamster Heaven. Having looked at the reviews, and the size of it, it seems ideal. Also got quite a good price I think at £60.
Now I just have to hope that P@H give me at least store credit for the other ones!

Re: P@H large hamster cage
I also hope that the move doesn't stress her out too much, it will have been a number of changes in a small space of time. I will make sure I have plenty of familiar things in there (her house, wheel, potty and wooden things) and I will also make sure that some of her existing bedding/wood shavings move with her.
