Default Chinchilla Sand

I ordered a 6 packs of the sand off Amazon as it was a little cheaper - and I got free postage that way LOL. However, it arrived this morning, and is in different packaging from normal, and from what was shown, so I have enclosed some photos of it as I'm actually unsure if it's ok ... It says it's for chinchillas and gerbils - usually it just says chinchillas. But it does say that it is sand ...
Sorry about the orangeness is one pic - I didn't use the flash for that LOL

As far as I know Chinchilla *sand* is fine, it's the dust that can be more problematic for hamsters. If it looks and feels like sand, then it should be ok.

I haven't actually opened any of the cartons - I was concerned that if I opened it and it wasn't right that I wouldn't be able to return it? I got it from Amazon, but the advertised picture was the same as the one I usually get in the bluey carton. I don't know if this is just different packaging or a different product? It's never before said it was for chinchillas and gerbils, just chinchillas ...
This is what I ordered (6 Pack) Supreme - Charlie Chinchilla Sand 1.5L: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies ... And that photo looks totally different to mine!

I recognise the picture that you thought you were ordering, but not the product that you have actually received. I know what you mean about being unsure about unfamiliar items. I'm sure it's fine, but if you're anything like me, you will probably be happier returning it, and knowing for sure it's ok! (probably not what you wanted to hear because if the ordeal of actually returning it lol)

Yeah Lol. I have sent them a message on Amazon asking about it, but it's taking ages to upload my photo!

Supreme re-branded a lot of the things they sell a while ago, now most things they sell are labelled as Tiny Friends Farm. If you look closely at the packaging you'll probably be able to find Supreme mentioned somewhere, it should be exactly the same product as the Supreme Charlie Chinchilla sand, just they've changed the packaging and are saying its fine for hamsters, gerbils and degus too now.

I buy the one you thought you were buying, I have a small stock pile of the stuff, and I use the same link so I'm hesitant to reorder it from Amazon now. I'm a sucker for habit, I don't think I'd cope well if they sent me a totally different looking product. I work on habits and sequence, if they change the product it'll freak me out. In fact I have it on recurring delivery, one should be here in a few days actually, although I have a small stock pile, I do like to have enough to keep me going.

I hope they send the actual product shown, I know you can return it on the grounds of having a different item sent than the one shown.
If you're not happy, send it back, I personally would.

Oh, I've just noticed something actually.
If you look at the image I've uploaded below, you'll notice on the left (Pack of 1) is sold and dispatched by Amazon and on the right (Pack of 6) is sold and dispatched by Mighty Oak Trading.
This could be why you received a totally different product, it's a silly way of doing things, you would think Amazon would sell and dispatch the pack of 6, or have the Mighty Oak Trading listing as a whole new listing because it is, essentially a different product. Same "product" (sand) but differently branded.

Amazon sell the Supreme and Mighty Oak Trading sell Tiny Friends Farm.
I would still contact Amazon and request a return if you wanted to, you're well within your rights to, because unfortunately they are different products. Just on the same listing, I think Mighty Oak Trading either made an accidental mistake or they purposely kept the same picture of the Amazon ones in order to have the listings linked.

I only noticed this because I was about to go ahead & buy the pack of 6 (cheaper and free delivery, as you quite rightly noticed too), but unfortunately, unbeknownst to you, until receiving the delivery, it is a totally different brand.

You're well within your rights to return (but make sure you explain that you didn't realise it was a 3rd party seller and therefore a different item then what was stated, Amazon might rectify the listings being linked to avoid it happening in the future).

I do hope this helps, sorry it's so long winded.
xx

EDIT- I've just seen the picture is stupidly small
Here's the only way I could think to fix it-
Here's the links to the different pages, make sure you pay attention to the writing UNDERNEATH the prices, you'll see what I mean.
"1 Pack" Link
"6 Pack" Link

Thanks. Went onto both pages, but as soon as you choose the 6 pack option on the first link it opens the same as second link - so same picture but from the different brand! That doesn't make much sense!
