My Barney box was quite long and tall but not too wide - the cage and base were on their side in it. Excuse the messy child bedroom lol. Our 8 year old fitted in it for a game, but I don't think I'm going to keep it as it's big to store and not really needed once the cage is seen to be fine.

As the cage is on it's side like that, the box must be just over 100cm long, about 55cm tall and about 45cm deep.

Thank you. I may need to store it in the loft for a while, as we are going to decorate. I hope it will fit through the loft hatch.

Once the cage is setup I may try to make the box into a playpen.

Sounds like a good idea! Reckon it should go through a loft hatch as it's long rather than wide, but that depends on the size of your loft hatch

I may have a quick measure of the loft hatch. It should fit though. I don't have a other half. Me and my brother-in-law are decorating.

Although it had 2 - 3 working day delivery. It has already been passed to Yodel (delivery company). It may come tomorrow. Really wanted it to arrive Saturday at the earliest as I have work tomorrow.

It arrived today. It's massive. It just fits a gap on my floor. I now need a bigger room.

I think it will fit through the loft hatch, but it's going to be hard to get in. The fixed ladder makes it hard to get the right angle and the cage length makes it hard to get past the top of the door frame. I might do a full level, but think access to the bottom could be an issue with the two small front doors, so may have an extra platform on the right hand side and possibly one alone the back (possibly a bridge shaped platform.)

The house that comes with the barney cage seems a bit large for a dwarf hamster. Would it be a good idea to get a smaller house or a house with small rooms.?
