Default Can I house two different dwarf species together?

This is a hypothetical question. I just wanted to know if I could house a Robo and a Winter White together or any other dwarf with a different species of dwarf? Again this is a hypothetical and I don't plan on doing this.

Others on here will know more than I do, but I don't think the different species can be housed together.

I would strongly advise against even considering this. The only time I've heard of two species of hamster sharing a cage has been a few reports of pet shop cages containing roborovskis and hybrids and every time I've seen a report like that the robo has been being badly bullied. I've never seen them sharing a cage myself (and I hope I never do), I've also not known anyone attempt to keep a robo with a winter white but I can't imagine it ending at all well if someone did.

It can be very difficult or even impossible to keep two hamsters of the same species together, so I really can't see why anyone would want to increase the risks of trouble by trying to keep two different species together. I also can't see any benefits to trying it, to me it just seems likely to create stress for the hamsters without any benefits for them.

I said this was a hypothetical and was not considering it or planning on it. I was just curious if it was possible.

No, it's not good! Never house different species together!
In my opinion it's not possible if you care about the well being of the pets & their safety

I saw one of Erin's Hamsters videos on this topic - she reckons different species must never ever live together. Mainly because they are just that - different 'species' - not different breeds within a species.
