Another fab wheel review Serendipity!! Definitely seems to be the go-to-wheel if you want something you can attach directly to the bars. I do like the idea of not having to worry about substrate levels like you do when you're dealing with a wheel on a stand. The only thing that stands out to me as a big negative is the colour!

It has now been edited a little bit - I realised I had uploaded it without editing out a very long pause when I forgot what to say ha ha. So it's a bit better now.

I honestly didn't notice the pause! I found the video a lot more informative than the offical one they have, you never get a true reflection of something based on it's advert, that's why I prefer reviews

Still being tempted by the wheel after Spike's shenanigans with his Trixie wheel at 3am this morning. I had to move the whole thing forward to stop him blocking it up with substrate. The Mamble base slopes inward though so I'm worried about the bottom part of the wheel scraping against the base. How much room does that spacer give you between the wheel and the cage?

I don't think it would scrape the base of the cage, but it would depend how low you had it I guess. My wheel sits a centimetre or two below the top of the cage base and it doesn't rub it at all. The spacer is about an inch long (roughly) so the wheel sits an inch away from the bars, but not an inch away from the base. I haven't tried the wheel lower down where the base slopes in further. Basically the wheel is about 1cm from the top of a 43cm internal height cage. The wheel itself is about 30cm externally so that leaves about 12 centimetres underneath and it doesn't rub. So if you could set it 12cm or more above the bottom of the base I reckon it would be ok - depends where your space for a wheel is. It would be expensive to find it didn't fit right. Basically I reckon it's best to have it as high as possible so it's almost above the cage base, but not so high as to be above the highest substrate level (if that makes sense) so it's still accessible easily.

Only thing is - they still make a noise with food inside them lol!

Thanks for the feedback! You're proabably right about not putting it too low down (plus not stopping them putting food in it ). The Mamble has a fair bit of height to play with so I'm guessing it should be okay. Going to have to ponder it though, as you said not the cheapest wheel, but worthwhile not to be woken up by an angry hamster trying to kill his wheel at 3am because he's gone and jammed it with substrate

I know I hated having a wheel on the floor of the cage. The Wobust wheel was good hung from the bars but really limits where you can put it and how you can set the cage up. When's your birthday lol? Maybe ask for one from someone.

Ha ha. He might oblige. They do seem a bit expensive I think, but I guess that's because they're imported. They're $21.95 at Exotic Nutrition in the US which converts to just over £15 so we're paying £10 over that!
