Re: Charlie's in his Barney Cage
Hey that cage and setup is lovely serendipity! Must have taken ages to do. I love the video of Charlie exploring. Isn't he sweet, what a careful explorer he is,I don't think he left one corner unsniffed! What is that black hidey thing in the top corner? He felt so safe in there didn't he bless him. One of my dwarfs would love that as a hidey,he loves anything curved

Re: Charlie's in his Barney Cage
It's a small salt pig - it was supposed to be a sand bath originally - I couldn't fit anything bigger in. Charlie kept removing the sand and filling it with Fitch and turning into a cosy den. In summer he would go and sit in there when it was hot, to cool off.
I don't think they sell it any more, but these are similar and I know someone else had one of these - I just wanted something a little bit bigger for Charlie, but these ones are a good size for a dwarf

Re: Charlie's in his Barney Cage
Thank you that's great to know. Really good idea of yours. I like turning household objects into hamster hideys and toys. Btw I'm glad you make a mess everywhere with Fitch when you do a changeover, I've been despairing about the amount of bedding I get all over the floor so I won't bother feeling so bad now!

Re: Charlie's in his Barney Cage
lol! nice to know you're not alone with fitch all over the floor & just about everywhere else, if I don't drop it they kick it out!
That looks like the same salt pig as I have, it was always one of Flynt's favourite places to hang out

Re: Charlie's in his Barney Cage
I think it might have been you recommended it to me Cypher! But I thought it wouldn't be big enough for Charlie who had grown rather large so got the other one.
