Smile Evie's new cage is here!

Assembled, but obviously not set up yet. I took a quick size comparison pic though. She will move in tonight and the foster family's cage will become travel only.

Thanks! I hope so too. I think she'll appreciate the added space. Poor thing's wheel takes up half the bottom level now, and she's chubby for the tube to get to bed.

Nice looking cage. What is it called? Looks like it has white bars (my dream for a cage)!

Flowerfairy, it's a Kaytee brand rat cage. It is on the small side still, but offers .5 inch (1.25 cm) bar spacing unlike most cages if that size in the USA. I wasn't aware of the 360 sq inch guideline when I purchased. It's over 300, though, in contrast to her former ~170 square inch home. I like it so far. It's deep, so more bedding for Evie, and poor girl's wheel will actually fit comfortably and not constantly inch closer to walls and then stop turning well. She'll also have true privacy since her sleeping space won't be a transparent plastic box. I'm excited to put her in it later! (I would now but her highness is sleeping )

Looks ok. Put the substrate,bed/nest and toys in from the old cage as her scent will be on them and make the transition less stressful for her.

CMB, I did, everything was transferred with her. She woke up, so I moved her. She is curious, so lots of exploring. She found her food and she's going for a run. I'm home today so will keep an eye on her.
