Hemp mats
Just wanted to pass on that the Kerbl one is rubbish! Far too moulty and hairy and I don't think it's suitable because of that. The first one I had was the Hugro one from Zooplus and that's really good, so I'm getting another one.
So if anyone else gets a hemp mat, get the Hugro one (which is dense and doesn't moult everywhere), not the rubbish Kerbl one!

Re: Hemp mats
Sound advice as always Serendipity. Not something I have ever bought myself but I can see the temptation as they can be made into shelf liners or walkways/low slung hammocks. x

Re: Hemp mats
Charlie has a circle of it lining his rat sputnik and loves it, as it makes it cosy. I just cut a piece for the shelf in his new cage as well. Thinking about the hammock idea but it would probably need metal ring reinforcements so it didn't tear.

Re: Hemp mats
I've only used the Hugro ones & they are good, cheaper at Ratrations than zooplus I think.

Re: Hemp mats
Yes those are nice! Softer than the grass hammocks. I got one recently but it had a funny smell, so I put it through the washing machine and it started falling apart lol. So maybe I'll get another one some time. I might just be allergic to grass mats or something! But the hyacinth tube is the same stuff and that doesn't bother me, so maybe I just got a slightly mouldy one lol. Better luck next time.
