Default Put the hamster an other place - astma

First I want to say sorry because off my bad English
Last year I got astma and I have been told that to let somebody else take care off the hamster so I can find out if the astma becomes better without an hamster in the house. But our hamster is 3 years old in august this year. When I brought up this with some other hamster person, she said that I could put the hamster down because off the hamsters age and because off stress. Is this right, or is it safe for me to let sombody else take care off her?

Welcome to the forum and sorry you are having difficulty with your asthma.

Have you been to your doctor about your asthma, a number of things could have triggered your symptoms.

I too have asthma but is managed. I do take antihistamines if I have a flare up, have you considered these.

I would seek medical advice if your symptoms are worse, maybe you need an inhaler review?

How long have you had asthma?
Hope this helps.

Hello,
the problem is that my skin is also reacting at something and I need to find out if it is the hamster or if there is something inside the cage.

How long have you had these symptoms?

Have you tried antihistamines or been to your doctor?

Given its only been 5 months and you've had your hamster 3 years, which is a fantastic age, I would look at other things which may be triggers.

As the hamster is getting on and is old in hamster age can you not struggle on and let her see out her days without the stress of a new home? I realise this makes things difficult for you but as hamster do not live more than 2-3 years sadly she may not have much time left.

It is very difficult. My astma doctor has told me too remove everything i react at. At the same time it is not just my lungs there are getting irritated, but my skin looks like hell and my skin doctor and others tries to find out what it is. So I`m stuck between.
