Stuck between choices argh!
So on saturday I will hopefully recieve some money and have been desperate for a new cage for my little guy.
He's currently growing faster than we expected and he's getting too big for his standard two tier wire cage so using the money I have i'll be going into Pets @ Home to choose him a new cage.
I love the look and size of both the Hamster Heaven and Savic Cambridge but the cost for the Hamster Heaven for me is very expensive.
Does anyone know the price of the Hamster Heaven instore? it's priced differently on the website for some reason.
Also if I buy him a Hamster Heaven I will not have much money left over to buy him any new toys or treats however If I get him a Savic Cambridge I can afford to spoil him with toys and treats!
I know the more space he will have the happier he will be but the Cambridge cage has multiple levels.
Bah, i'm really stuck for choosing which one I should buy..
It's difficult not having much money ):

Re: Stuck between choices argh!
personally, i'd check on ebay first because cambridges often come up for half the price they are in pets at home, even including postage. Heavens are sometimes on there too. I'd try a few 2nd hand sites before buying new. Pets at home is a total rip-off, i think the heaven is about £80 there, but i've seen them 2nd hand for £30-£40

i love imac fantasys. they are great cages. i have both my syrians in these. you can buy the initial cage then add levels as you can afford to. otherwise i would say between the two you are voting for the hamster heaven. x

Re: Stuck between choices argh!
Hmm, I was hoping to buy something from P@H as they sent me £20 in vouchers not too long ago to try and compensate for the fact that my little Chomphad wet tail not too long after buying him.
I guess I could just use this for toys and buy the cage online or elsewhere (:
Anyone got any good alternative websites to use other than eBay?
Thanks in advance

Re: Stuck between choices argh!
The heaven is nice and roomy. I think it is £79.95 in P@H stores but you do get a starter kit with it which makes it better value. If you also have the vouchers thenit may be worth just getting it there. The Cambridge was I think around £40 and you would also get the starter kit which would mean you only needed to put £20 in and still have a fab cage. Check where you want to keep it as the heaven is very large to accomodate. What cage is he in as he may be quite happy with a Cambridge and find a heaven to expansive.

He's in just a cheap standard starter cage, it's similar in length to the cambridge but only has one platform, but he seems to get very bored.
I didnt know that i'd get a starter kit with it (: !
I have enough room for the Heaven as I have some very wide shelves.

Re: Stuck between choices argh!
ah, in that case, if you've got vouchers, as Souffle says you'd only need to pay £20 for a new cambridge! You'd have to buy a new wheel though, if you get the cambridge, where the Heaven comes with a decent sized wheel. I wouldn't get excited about the starter kit - it's only a bit of food, a bail of sawdust and some choc drops. The rest is useless... or it was when i had one anyway. It was especially useless to me who didn't use sawdust. We put it on the garden

Re: Stuck between choices argh!
I've got a Hamster Heaven for each of my two hammies and they/I love them and would definately recommend them, they are very big though so you need to have a large place to put it. I also have a Cambridge for my mice and its a lovely cage as well.
