Question about CareFresh bedding?
Hello everyone,
I've been buying Carefresh Complete Natural bedding for my hams for a year now. Within the past couple of months, I've noticed each bag I've gotten (I buy the huge 25.7 liter bag that apparently expands twice it's size) has gradually been dustier. Today I bought a new bag and brought it home. The color seems to have changed to a slightly redder tone (it was white-grey before), which I didn't notice until I compared it to the previous version. And it also seems to have a rougher texture than usual. Another strange thing I've noticed is that is smells slightly of vanilla. The packaging hasn't changed at all. Does anyone know if and why they would've changed their formula? Is it better now? Has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Question about CareFresh bedding?
I've noticed this too! I'm not sure what it is, though.

Re: Question about CareFresh bedding?
Do Carefresh (Supreme) do various types of this product in the states? The best product they make is called Cosi n Dri but whether (a) you guys can get it over there or (b) it`s been discontinued, is not clear. In the UK we can still get it but I did hear rumours about Cosi n Dri being discontinued but never had this verified. It`s a lovely product. Shame Carefresh is the lower grade product as it seems the most widely available.
It might be worth taking it all from the sealed bag, breaking it up into an open storage box/bin and give it a good mulching by hand and allow the stuff to air out? That`s all I can recommend really if the product seems to smell or is dusty. It does make some difference but Carefresh has a texture that seems to allow for fine cadis-like dust/particles to remain. It`s probably due to the way it`s made and not dust extracted fully. x
