Question about cage toys

A couple days ago I adopted 2 syrian hamsters and before I had a Chinese stripped so im kinda relearning everything. My new hamsters seem to really enjoy climbing a lot more than my other hamster and i was thinking about getting one of those wooden ladders that they use for Bird cages. Would that be fine? thanks

Be aware that you must keep syrians in separate cages and not let them meet ever for playtime or anything. Syrians are solitary by nature and need to live alone or they will fight. Just in case you had them together!
I wouldn't advise letting them climb as syrians are not that agile and can hurt themselves if they drop down even a short distance. They can also get tangled in ladder rungs so avoid those. A ramp is OK but ledges need to overlap so that a hammy cannot fall off the depth of a cage.

As the boys get older they may well fight to the death. It is really vital to keep syrian hamsters alone.

Syrians will be okay together as babies but once they reach maturity the risks of them fighting to the death increases every day that they're together. Sometimes you see miracles, syrians who haven't murdered eachother usually kept in tiny cages in complete ignorance but they are not happy hams and the usual story is one being killed.

Please please please find another cage for these boys.

Welcome to HC! I'd suggest forgetting what the pet shop told you and just getting your info here :P It's by far the best hamster forum imo

As others have said, you NEED to separate them! They will almost certainly kill each other if not, and even if they don't, they'll live a stressful life. I wouldn't suggest letting syrians climb much - falls can really hurt them
