Room Layout Frustration! Help!
Getting a bit frustrated with the spare bedroom layout. I have a Ferplast 120 in there for Alfie and on the same wall I have a desk and a 2x2 Expedit/Kallax unit which has a hamster cage on top. Until about half an hour a go I had it Ferplast Cage then desk then Kallax which was fine until Alfie realised he could jump on top of his cage, onto my desk, onto the hamster cage and onto the 4x4 Kallax that has all my craft stuff in. I had a load of Lego on top and a few ornaments and he knocked the lot off. I'm going to post pics of the VERY messy room. It's not normally like this, I'm just moving everything around... Honest lol! Any layout suggestions? I'm going to IKEA in a few weeks and was hoping to get a Detolf for my hamster but I don't think there's any way for me to fit it in. I basically need a way to have a rabbit cage with a table or something ontop that the hamster cage can go on. And I have another hamster that needs moving into here... ARG! I do have a dog crate that Alfie could have instead of the cage, it's smaller but then it's only used as his 'base', he has the run of the room all the time. Help! I'm stuck D: Bonus Alfie pic showing what a grumpy toad he is being because I'm moving his stuff about! Oh and the other side of the room isn't usable as it's got the bed on it and to the left of the hamster cage is a window so I'm not happy with the cage being there.I've moved things around but it can't stay like it is. I'd hoped that the Ferplast Cage would fit down the side of the 4x4 unit but annoyingly it doesn't!

Re: Room Layout Frustration! Help!
My tip is to get a measuring tape, measure all the furniture and the room, marking doors and windows etc. Draw all that onto a bit of paper, cut out bits of paper the size of the furniture and just play with it until it fits. I thought I had no hope of getting my Detolf into my room at my mums but I just needed to mess around with it a bit and it turned out I had plenty of space, I just wasn't using it right.

That is what I do ^^
I love doing that, its really helpful to see how things would fit and much easier than moving the furniture round and then realising its a teeny bit too big I used to move my room round all the time just for fun when I was a kid hah

Re: Room Layout Frustration! Help!
Could you put your desk in front of the window? And put bunny cage where 2X2 is now? You said the hamster cage does not fit next to the 4 X 4 but would it fit if you turned it sideways for the short side of the cage runs next to the 4X4?

Re: Room Layout Frustration! Help!
Don't know if it would work for you but when we move I plan to have a 'Tabby' cage (Zooplus) as a 'base' cage for my rabbits. I then plan to put a hamster cage on top as it's such a nice, sturdy cage and it's a good height.
The rabbits will obviously have free range of the room (I might use a puppy pen for additional security, not decided yet!) but the cage will be a good base for their hay and litter tray etc. and I can shut them in there when cleaning other pets out etc.
That's the plan anyway!
