I just received my 9" Silent Runner Wheel and I love it! It is completely silent! I've had both size Wodent Wheels and I also have a Carolina Storm Express wheel. This silent runner wheel seems to have taken the best of both and combined them!

Can a 9 in wheel be used in a bin cage for a Syrian hamster? Would it fit in a 20 gal long tank with a top?

What kind of wheel do you have now?

It measures just at 10 inches high.

I just measured 20 gal long tank..would barely fit being 10 in high. I have a 8.5 in Wodent Wheel right now. I'd like to try to put in a 110 qt bin cage for a RCD hamster but there is 6 in of bedding? I don't know if I could make that work by packing Carefresh around base or not?

I have a 6.5 in Silent Spinner in the bin cage right now...still trying to get ebay seller to come down in price, below $27, will see?

I bought one for $26 Inc shipping, will try to make it work for bin cage if not, it will fit the 20 gal tank, will be interesting?

That's was a great review, now I know what to expect & how to put it together. Your cage set-up looks real nice. I encourage dwarf owners to not be afraid to order a larger wheel (9 in). My WW loves her 8.5 in Wodent Wheel. She can move it no problem. This wheel I'm buying for Koala Bear (RCD) assuming I can pack the bedding in place correctly in his bin cage. I don't forsee any problems (cause my substrate is deeper than 1 in) will just pack it steady at the top level of the substrate on the stand. He is real hard on his wheel (SS) & will soon wear that wheel out.

I think the 9" one would be great for a dwarf hamster. The wheel is very light.

I should be able to let you know how well it works for a dwarf soon, mine arrived today, couldn't resist
I did have a real struggle getting the bit that joins the ends of the running strip on, I don't know if I got an extra tight one or what but I almost gave up at one point & my thumb still hurts lol!
Now I've done it I really like it, it does spin easily & silently when I spin it, I've put it in Whisper's play bin for now so I'll see what she thinks later (if she's talking to me & wants to come out that is, she's been in a bit of a strop the last few days!) I really hope she does like it though...
It does look kind of huge! Fits into the Alaska no problem & even the Hamster Heaven which isn't very tall on a reasonable amount of substrate so it should be ok in most cages, it does almost reach the top of the play bin though but you would still be able to get a lid on just.
I wish it was orange like the larger one but yellow is good & you can't have everything!
I'm not sure if the cage attachment for the larger one would fit the smaller one as they aren't selling extras for the 9" (in the UK that is) but I really like it on the stand, it's really surprisingly light & it seems very stable but I'll have to wait & see what happens when it gets a test drive to be sure.

Yay! I didn't know the bar attachment wasn't for the 9" one - I think you can buy it separately - I'm sure it would fit it's just two square metal plates. Yes the joining strip is quite stiff - it doesn't flex, you just have to push it on rather than try and open it up or slide it on - hence I got it in the wrong place at first and had to take it off and put it back on again. If it's not in the centre, the wheel can have a slight wobble or scissors effect I found, just because the balance is thrown slightly off by the track joining strip being too far over one way or the other.
