Re: Hamster House Move - Will she get upset?
Some hams are just a little more sensitive to change - Nelly wasn't right for about 3 days after I upgraded her cage, even though I had let her play in it for about a week beforehand! She got all upset and ended up sleeping in her litter tray as I guess thats the place that smelt the most of her! Bless her. I was SO worried but by day 3 she was happy.
So I'd say your ham is just one that seems more sensitive, BUT I'd be worried about her if she is getting her claws caught in the mesh as she could easily pull a claw out or something. Maybe you need to find a different cage. Ebay can be good for tanks (I got one for £3) and then there is no danger of anything being caught

Re: Hamster House Move - Will she get upset?
Thanks for the replies, I hope to get her a similar cage to the one she has now (probably a zoozone as I found a seller near me). @peasypea Glad Nelly got used to her home in the end!

Re: Hamster House Move - Will she get upset?
UPDATE: Dandi has a 28cm karlie wonderwheel coming! She's been in her old cage since I saw she was so un-happy in her new cage, but sadly the wheel just won't fit ....
Once the wheel's arrived, I'm going to attempt putting the lower half of her cage in the new home and put a bridge so she get out into the new tank. Will also be building a grid to go over the mesh so she can't get any claws stuck! Fingers crossed this works out!
