Hutches for a hamster?
I've been looking at a larger cages for hamsters, as my female is currently in a bin cage and I feel that's too small, and I came across one of those wooden outdoor hutches for Guinea Pigs on the pets at home website for £50, now I wouldn't keep it outside of course, it would be in my bedroom, would a wooden hutch be suitable for a Syrian Hamster? From what I've seen the measurements are around H54 x W122 x D45cm.

Re: Hutches for a hamster?
I kept my last syrian, Harvest in a five foot by two foot double story rabbit hutch (in my bedroom). She was fine.
She was a right bar chewer before moving to the hutch but all that space made her very happy indeed and although she chewed by the mesh she never made any holes.
I reakon it could work out really well.
Harvest had two wheels, a sand bath, lots of boxes, etc which I changed regularly to keep her interested and a nice big house inside the bedroom bit of the hutch on the top floor.
