Does anyone have this type of housing for their hammy, and if yes, what do you think about it? Is it easy to clean etc etc ?

No vertical surfaces really so would be hard to attach a Rolly Savic Jumbo wheel but at least they afford more ventilation that the kidney shaped enclosure. A decent wire cage could be purchased for the same price, or a duna with less chance of all the litter being kicked out - the bars seem to come quite far down the sides of the pod unit?

I wish Armitage/Rotastak would start considering units AND TUBES from a hamster's perspective rather than the child who will have it in their bedroom. It wouldn't take much and then I wouldn't get so annoyed in pet stores when I see another little girl buying a PINK PALACE!!!!! I just feel so sorry for the poor sweaty hamsters they are going to live their lives out in them...

You can interact with your hamster as long as you do it through a small 2cm deep wire area around the top of one of the round units or buy the small garden attachement... Poor hamster squeezes through tubes too narrow for any decent pouching Good job they are so short sighted I don't think I would like to live my life looking through curved perspex... Plus I bet the mothers who have to clean them out would appreciate a few changes in the design And the lack of adequate ventilation means if they are not cleaned out often enough then spores quickly develop in their toilet areas and beds.... which can be potentially fatal.

You may notice I am not a huge fan

Visit the manufacturer for more images and information ... Armitage

Although hamsters are small I still prefer to go for the big cages and will not take second best. I HATE the crappy cages coming out on the maket they are not worth the money or the hasle cleaning ...I go for the roomy cages.

Rotastacks and cages like them ...well whomever thought them up should be WHIPED.

I have all the types. Even three bits of the triangle pod type enclosures, never used the triangle as a cage, but it made a useful play area, when I was taming, we could give them half an hour in there on the table, and it was easier to get them out than from the normal Rotastak.

As most of you know I have tones of Rotastak, and still do like them for my smaller than normal Syrians, Ponder loves it, and as she is about a Campbells size has no issues with their tubes, it also helps that she has two kidney units and about 6 rounds, 2 external wheels, one burrow basement and a lot of attics, she has enough room!!

I am though slowly moving them into storage bins when I have the money, and selling off the Rotastak. If I sell Stibbons he would go with two kidneys and a ton of rounds, so I knew he had enough cage! (for about £30 )
