Sorry I misunderstood, I prefer barred cages but a large tank style cage with the big barred top opening like the zoozone for example should have adequate ventilation, there really shouldn't be enough moisture in the tank for it to be a problem.

I have one of my hammies currently in a Mamble (can't say anything about the Barney as I'm in the US) and it is worrisome how tall it is. At the moment, I've kept the top level completely bare without any hiding spots/cover as it prevents Lady P from going up it but in the event that even once I finish decking it out, I feel there's simply too much "wiggle" room for Lady P to fall, then I would switch her to another cage (I have a Marchioro Kevin on the way precisely for that possibility)

ETA: Although the base of the Mamble seems a decent height, with how tall the Mamble is, I really wish it was higher so I could pile bedding up higher.

I have the barney and the multi duna maxi (what a weird name that is).

The barney is my fave from the point of view of adding toys but I love the cosyness of the maxi. I also prefer the colour of the maxi!

They are both brilliant cages with decent sized openings at the top. Neither of my syrians have bar climbed on the barney, mabe cos the bars are so close together.

He was all excited saying he has found the perfect cage, it fits in the gap and we won't have to shift furniture about..Followed by you will love it....Now I feel like a b***t because I said I wanted the Barney can he change the order.. his face dropped and he did the whole I thought you would be happy it will be here in a few days...That is the last time I leave a tab open on my computer haha I feel so bad now though I must have come across as so ungrateful..

If you ordered from Zooplus, they have/had a warehouse backlog in the UK so I`m not sure their delivery will be as suggested. Keep an eye on your courier tracking. x

You can't go wrong with the Alaska It is still a good sized cage, even if not a 100cm one (84cm I think) and it has a good big front door on it. I'd take the white house out (the one on the shelf) as the doorholes are too small for a Syrian. The shelf is supposed to be fine. If you really want the Barney I would order that too and then just return the Alaska when it arrives.

I feel so guilty about it poor bloke. He has said let it arrive and if I'm really unhappy he will order the barney, but I have to give the Alaska a chance.. Most youtube videos look ok but it really is the flimsy looking bars that put me off but the big door makes me go oooo.. Since when has choosing a cage been so hard and headachey... Or is that just me..

I love the alaska cage, it is a bit flimsy but not so much it won't last with a bit of care, the big front door is a real bonus, it's quite a good size & if you don't use the accessories (the house isn't really big enough for a dwarf!) has lots of potential for really nice set ups.

I've got both the Alaska and the Barney, the Alaska is stored away and the Hams both live in a barney each.... The Alaska is ok but the Barney is much better quality. The Alaska is a little flimsy but as expected for the price! But the big front door is great and there's plenty of space to add in extra toys.
