Question Dividing a rat manor cage?

I own the Petco Rat Manor cage and my hamster Luna loves it, but I was wondering if it'd be at all possible for me to divide it into two cages? Since the base is 528 sq. inches and she doesn't use the top floor, I figured I'd put the second floor to use by getting another hamster.
I have the full second floor covered for her (using cardboard which she surprisingly doesn't chew on..probably since she doesn't go up there). I was considering making a wood tray (covered in plastikote of course) or a plastic tray to go in the top since there are two doors and I could access both levels easily even with them securely separated
(Getting two bin cages isn't an option either btw, since I still live with my parents and my dad only wants one cage minimum in my room)

that doesn't sound like a bad idea as long as everything is secure and there is n way of the hamsters getting to one another
I don't see the problem just make sure everything is secure and I think it would be a good idea xx

The whole thing would be great! That way, we could all gauge if it would work to house another hamster. I'd recommend, if you are able to get another hamster, that you get another female, as housing a male of the same species over a female could end up disastrous. What species is Luna?

Alright, I'll snap one when I get home! That's what I was planning on doing too, I don't need a surprise pregnancy. And Luna is a Syrian hamster

Great! Just make sure that the divider is 100% chew proof so that there is no way that the hams could chew through and fight each other, you never know how they would react with another hamster nearby!

Do I have to post the pictures somewhere before I add them into a reply? And if so where should I put them, photobucket?

You have to upload them to a site like Photo Bucket then copy and paste the Img link to your post. You will eventually be able to attach a post but you have to have I think it's 15-20 post before gaining that member priviledge
