There are some really nice new houses just out at Rodipet, the temptation is almost too much lol!

Blimey some of those are like a whole hamster bungalow! I am very tempted by them, but Smokey does like to drag big things round inside her house - so I wonder if she'd get frustrated getting them through the doorways...well, she'd probably figure it out!

Ooh would you look at that! I'm still trying to work them all out. More rooms but not one big room in the middle like the other lab house was/is. Still some of the rooms look big enough for a cosy nest. As before the Syrian sized one is a bit too big for Charlie's current cage. But there are also some smaller ones with big doorways. Need to look again! Actually they're not a bad price! Between £12 and £20 equivalent I think, although postage is £7. Love them.

Actually the 41 x 26 would fit in Charlie's cage - his current house is 35 by 25. 41 would fill the width of the cage, but that's ok. I'm not sure he would use his potty if it was in a different room! But he might.

Crikey one version even has a built in sand bath on top!

I like these! I might order one for Glowy but not until I'm reasonably sure he has stopped growing like a weed. I am not entirely sure that Nibble would be able to fit in some of the rooms tho!

Looking at the measurements of most of them, they'll take up almost half of the Alaska though! Thats the only thing thats putting me off at the moment... Flump needs a house!!

They do take up a lot of space but the advantage of the flat top means that if you put it on a nice deep layer of substrate it doubles up as a shelf & can make better use of the space you have.

I'm trying really hard not to look, I really don't need any more houses.... or do I?

To give an idea of a size in an 80 x 50 cage, the largest one would stick out 2cm further than this house that Charlie currently has, and would fill the width of the cage from front to back. But the bendy bridge wouldn't be needed as the house would be dark inside. I think I worked out each of the large compartments is about 13cm wide by about 16 to 18cm long which is about the size of a standard hamster house. I reckon it would need to have little legs on though or it would be too heavy and would fall on a hamster if they tried to tunnel under it, and too low to put it on the base of the cage as it's only 11cm high. So reckon it needs little legs on the corners/stilts of about 3 inches. Or alternatively just have it on about an inch of substrate and have it as an almost subterannean house, so the roof would sit at the same height as the top of the cage base (ie about 15cm) and scoop out a bit of substrate down to the entrance door.
