Hi and welcome to HC!
As far as I can see callaway farms only produce bedding made from pine which is no good for hamsters, as the fumes are unhealthy for them to breath in. (:

Hello! I agree with Penguin , Callaway Farms is made with pin which is bad for a hamster's respiratory system .

I could be wrong as I don't use wood shavings but I think kiln dried pine shavings are ok in the UK but not the US & this is a US company so I'd look for a safe alternative.

You can't ever be right with Hamster bedding, I use woodshavings and it's what works with me and my Hammy. It depends on what works for you and your hamster, just don't get pine or cotton (ect) I have a thread on Hamster bedding so you might want to have a look?

Agree with Cypher - there is mention of kiln dried shavings on their website but it doesn't say which ones are kiln dried - plus it depends on how well they are kiln dried. In the Uk all pine shavings have to be kiln-dried by law, so there is a standard (I think). In Germany there is a specific welfare standard for kiln drying.

I see you are in the Bahamas? Will Amazon.com ship to you? Or are there local pet supply places. In most parts of the world you can get aspen bedding as it is used for reptiles and more easily found. This is a hardwood so safer than pine. Depending on the manufacturer, some aspen can be dusty so shaking it out through a sieve to remove the dust can help. Otherwise Carefresh is usually availalbe.

Other alternatives are Kaytee Clean n Cozy, Boxo, paper bedding by Oxbow.
