Small cage for robos?

Hello I currently have one robo dwarf hamster in a Detolf to herself, she doesn't really use all the space and uses half, I was planning on splitting the detolf and having a divider. On the other side I would have a singular robo or a pair, I have yet to decide.
Just wondering everyone's thoughts on this, will it be enough space, does anyone else think their robos are intimidated by larger cages.
This is still just an idea, but I thought it was a good one?

Some hams do prefer smaller spaces, a lot depends on the set up though, with lots of hideouts & a really good deep layer of substrate to burrow in most will enjoy the space.
Half a detolf would be ok though if you really think your robo needs less space, if you are thinking of putting a pair in the other half it may be a bit of a squeeze to get two of everything in & you would need another cage ready in case you had to separate them so maybe think about just getting the one?

Thanks for your advice cypher, I might just go for the one robo on the other side, that was my original plan to adopt one from the pets at home adoption corner.
She really doesn't seem to explore the whole detolf when I watch her at night, I have heavily built up the substrate on one end and she has a burrow there and her flying saucer and various toys and hidey places.
Interestingly I tried to encourage her to use the whole space by moving her flying sauce to the end she wasn't sleeping at but whenever I move it she just makes her nest where ever the flying saucer is

I don't know if she needs less space but maybe she would feel more secure, when I put her in the taming tub a 360 bin she happily will sit on my hand ect, but in her own cage she is very skittish and stays down the one end only going up to the other for food and water
I thought if I split it she may feel more secure, and then the extra space could provide a home for another robo

They are funny little things & do know their own minds lol! It sounds as though she's be fine in a smaller space from what you've said & would probably feel more secure, it would be nice if she's happy like that & it means you can give another little robo a forever home.
Why not just try it out & give her a little time to see how she likes it before you get another then if she settles better check out who's looking for a home in the adoption centre.

They are very individual I have a Syrian who thinks a whole detolf is too small (she is housed alone just for clarity)
Thank you for the encouragement, I just wanted to double check I wasn't making a terrible mistake

I was going to bunch her stuff all together to see if she minds, most of her favourite stuff is on the one side anyway, thank you for the advice, it's much appreciated

Hi JellyBeans, I agree about splitting the Detolf and adopting a single robo to live in the other section. The last two single robos I had both used my Gabber Rex Perspex tank, which is roughly the same size as a Zoozone 1 to give you an idea and it was big enough. Better than a Ferplast Duna which is on the small side.

One thing I would say is, decide how you are going to divide the Detolf and make sure it is very, very secure and can`t be dug under. I`m not sure if these units have sliding glass shelves that can be slid back in and then siliconed or fixed some how, or whether you would need to use a piece of sheet metal or even plywood? Do you know how you will go about doing the splitter? x
