Question Ferplast Milos Large

Ok so I hadn't at the time of buying this started watching videos or reading anything informational about hamsters. On my birthday we went down to pets at home and me and my mum and sister all looked at the hamsters and cages. We couldn't buy the hamster there and then sadly but we got the cage. We bought the Ferplast Milos Large.

I worked out that with some conversions the cage is exactly 118.576 squared cm too small. Hopefully the shelf bit makes up for that but I doubt it. Is this acceptable? Is it really bad that it's a little too small for a Syrian. I feel ashamed because I can't just go out and buy a new cage because I don't have any money (well like £10) and my parents don't have spare money right now either because we are redoing our new house and paying for my orthodontic treatment which is slightly complex.
I'm not sure if the tunnels are too small either however I can't find the size of them and I haven't found a ruler to measure them with.

Please can someone tell me if this cage is acceptable for a Syrian? Also I would upload photos but I don't know how :3

Hi cookietiger. I done a quick search and found this cage: Is this it? If it is, I would say it`s more suited to a dwarf hamster. The long tube would allow you to add on a second cage though, or you could buy a large Simla bin from Ikea and attach the two?

Different people will have different opinions on what cage sizes are suitable for hamsters. There is no set rule on what floor size a syrian should have. Have you got your hamster yet? If you have then you can always wait and see what the hamster seems to think of the cage before worrying

The tubes might be ok for a smaller syrian, some larger syrians may struggle but smaller ones will probably be ok.

Sorry for not replying sooner I completely forgot I made this thread.
Yup RH that's the cage. I live with my parents and they would probably have to buy the extra cage/ bin if I added one so I will have to see what they think. But I think it would be really cool.
And yup I already had my hamster in the cage when I made this thread. She spends a lot of her time in her house and on her wheel.
She did use the tunnel as her food hoard at one point but I think she found it too challenging to get past and I think she's too lazy as she now stores everything in her house (how uncomfortable). She can go through them ok she struggles a bit when trying to change direction obviously.

Hi
Are you using the wheel that came with the cage? I don't think that will be suitable for long..
Congrats on your new hammy!

Oh no! Definitely not. It was one of the first things I changed a long time ago.
I think I have a 12 inch or cm one I can't remember but it's no way near as bad as that wheel.
