I'm okay being nosy, gimme some details on how you did it so I can be impressed!

On the thread topic, I have some beach rocks I'm gonna boil, scrub and bake tonight for a bit of added texture in my detolf. Maybe ordering some more driftwood too!

Haha thanks! I am currently doing them in two sizes. The one pictured here is 90x50cm. And I also do a 75x50cm one.
If you checkout my facebook page, you will see more. It's just me doing it all on my own, with some very gratefully received help from my partner.
Am afraid design is a trade secret but basically involved buying timber, wire mesh, angle brackets and screws from B&Q and experimenting. Design has moved on somewhat from the first one I built. They are now much easier to assemble so parts can be replaceable. i.e. if naughty hamsters wee or chew them, then they can be replaced. That's my idea anyway... but only just starting out. I've a long way to go.

That's an excellent idea to have replaceble bits, it's one problem that I've seen a few times with wooden cages, that damage is awkward to repair. Very jealous of your DIY skills!

So my order came this morning and this is what I've gone with. There is a sand bath cornered off by a second bendy bridge under the large wooden platform in the lightwood cage, and Oscar's water bottle is next to the lightwood bridge out of shot. The blue empty bowl is his vegetable bowl as I've just bought him a larger bowl (can he seen in darkwood cage) so he can sit in it.

Note: The darkwood cage and the lightwood cage are connected by an opening on the sides. I'd originally bought the 'large' P@H cage for my Syrian and was told it was too small by some lovely HC people so I bought the second one and thought it'd make more sense to use both instead of just the larger cage.

That's nice with the separation of the dark and light woods, it looks very clean
